Meet Lemonade: Our School Pet Budgie

Gallery Image

Lemonade has become a much loved member of our St Augustine’s Primary School community. Our school budgie brings joy and interest to many of our students and provides opportunities for children to learn about caring for animals, responsibility and gentle interactions.  As part of our Lemonade Weekend Stay Program, students have the special opportunity to take Lemonade home for the weekend and share in the responsibility of caring for our school pet.

Each student who takes Lemonade home will receive his travel cage, care information and Lemonade’s journal. During the weekend, families are encouraged to take photos, draw pictures and write about the special experiences they have shared with Lemonade.

The journal will travel with Lemonade from family to family, creating a wonderful scrapbook of his adventures and allowing students to see where Lemonade has visited and what he has been doing with his school friends.

The weekend stay provides a wonderful opportunity for students to develop responsibility, empathy, care and respect for animals, while creating special memories with our school pet.

We look forward to seeing Lemonade’s journal grow throughout the year and reading about all of his weekend adventures!

🐾 Ziggy our Therapy Dog at Work

Ziggy has been busy spreading smiles, calmness and joy around our school!

Our students love spending time with Ziggy, whether it is having a quiet moment with him, giving him a pat, reading nearby or simply enjoying his company. Ziggy provides a wonderful sense of comfort and connection and is an important part of supporting student wellbeing at our school.

His gentle nature helps create a calm and welcoming environment where students can relax, connect and feel supported.

Thank you, Ziggy, for all the wonderful work you do!
