Environment, Facilities and Grounds

Safe and Well Operations Leader
Dear Parents, Carers and Friends of JSA,
Our School Infrastructure Sub-Committee continues to oversee improvements that support a safe, welcoming and accessible learning environment for our students, staff and families.
Between May and July, more than 200 maintenance jobs were completed across the school, reflecting the ongoing work of our maintenance and facilities teams.
A major focus remains the improvement of our outdoor learning and recreation areas.
Preparation is underway for the official playground opening, scheduled for Monday 19 October 2026. Cleaning and presentation works will be completed progressively before the event.
We have selected a suitable contractor for the upcoming playground painting works. New playground signage is also being developed.
The committee is exploring opportunities to involve students in creating artwork for the unfinished mural wall in Playground 3, helping to make the space more colourful and meaningful for our school community.
Additional improvements include approved planting at the front of the Yaluk building and near the school flag area.
Several frequently used school doors will also be upgraded, including the internal and external staffroom doors, the Finance Office entry door and the ICT door.
Repairs to an existing Yaluk blind and the installation of an additional blind will also be completed soon.
Our School Maintenance Plan has now been finalised and endorsed. Routine maintenance works involving landscaping, taps and pipes, lighting, flooring and stormwater systems have been planned over the next cycle.
We will also endeavour to make minor improvements to Playground 1 following consultation with a suitable contractor to identify practical upgrade options.
We look forward to sharing further updates as these projects progress and thank our students, staff and families for their patience and support while we continue improving our school facilities.
