Wellbeing News

It has been wonderful to see our families and students back at school. We hope you had a relaxing break.

We have a number of Wellbeing initiatives at Westgrove aimed at supporting students and/or families to be their best:

FOOD SUPPORT

There are a number of services available in Wyndham to support families in need of food…

  • WELLBEING WAGONS

We have 3 Wellbeing Wagons in the playground each recess break. These wagons contain various activities that students can participate in, such as board games, drawing, Uno, chess, toy cars, dolls and toy animals. These wagons are supervised by our Playground Buddies (Year 5 students) and are aimed at supporting the development of social skills and connection  between students.

  • UNIFORM SUPPORT

Please contact the office if you require support with uniforms. We have a supply of good 2nd hand items, but we may be able to also assist with new items through State Schools Relief.

Each family should also have their $400 Schools bonus by now which can be used for uniforms.

  • BREAKFAST CLUB

Breakfast Club is up and running thanks to the students from 5V. Breakfast will be served every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8:45am. This is free to all students. We are hoping to have some parent/carer helpers this year, so please make contact if you are able to help (even if it is only once a term - any help is appreciated)

  • SCHOOL NURSE

Each year a nurse comes to the school to carry out health checks for the new Preps. A basic vision and hearing test will be carried out as well as consultation with parents/carers who may have concerns about their child. The permission forms for this have already been distributed to students and should be returned as soon as possible. The nurse is due to visit on March 3rd and 4th.

  • MATRIX OF BEHAVIOUR EXPECTATIONS

We have a matrix that sets out the expectations of behaviour at school, during school events and out of school experiences. These expectations align with our four school values.
