SSV Cross Country

Congratulations to the following CCS students who represented the College at the recent SSV Cross Country State Championships: Summer Gieschen, Bentley Johnston, Rob Sullivan, Jack Alcock, Jobe Bailey, Evie Jones, Arabella Fowler, Oliver Sullivan, Sam Crouch and Suzie Coleman.

All runners competed a 3km course at the Yarra Valley Race course in Yarra Glen.

Oliver Sullivan (Year 9) finished 11th in a time of 10:31 in the 15 Years Boys competition, while Jack Alcock (Year 7) finished 22nd in the 12-13 Years Boys category. These are tremendous results when you consider this is against the best in the state of Victoria.

Well done to all students on making it to this level of competition and representing the College to such a high standard.

Netball Sport Academy

Our Netball Sports Academy girls had the incredible opportunity to train with Queensland Firebirds stars Lara Dunkley and Tippah Dwan!  Lara and Tippah led a high-energy skills session, taking students through drills and techniques, before wrapping up with an inspiring Q&A.

What an unforgettable experience for our girls to learn from elite athletes and be motivated by their journeys on and off the court.

Year 9 Student Shines at Sale Scrap Amateur Boxing Fight Night

On Saturday, 26 July, under the bright lights of Sale Memorial Hall, Year 9 student Perri Onley captured the admiration of over 1,000 spectators at the Sale Scrap Amateur Boxing Fight Night. Stepping in as a last-minute stand-in for the 15yrs & Under Female, Under 60kg division exhibition bout, Perri delivered a spirited and inspiring performance.

Though relatively new to standard boxing, Perri brought her strong background in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Muay Thai into the ring, facing a larger, more experienced opponent with remarkable composure. Over three intense rounds, she showcased resilience, grit, and adaptability, making her performance one of the night’s standout moments.

While the official decision went to her opponent, Perri’s courage and determination resonated with the crowd and with viewers around the world via the live stream. Her performance serves as a powerful reminder that stepping up, giving your all, and embracing new challenges is a victory in itself.

Perri’s effort also reflected the values of Frontline Australia Club: determination, discipline, and heart. With her fearless attitude and natural talent, she is undoubtedly a rising star in Australian combat sports.
