Teaching & Learning at Keysborough Secondary College: A year of learning, growth and opportunity

It is a pleasure to welcome families to another exciting year at Keysborough Secondary College. As the Assistant Principal for Teaching and Learning, I am proud to share the breadth of academic and extra-curricular opportunities available to our students—each designed to support, challenge, and inspire students throughout their learning journey.

Academic excellence is at the heart of everything we do. Our rigorous and engaging curriculum is carefully designed to meet the diverse needs, interests, and aspirations of our students, ensuring every learner is supported to achieve their personal best.

At Keysborough Secondary College we offer a wide range of senior pathways, including the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE), the VCE Vocational Major (VCE-VM), and the Victorian Pathways Certificate (VPC). In Year 10, students can also access applied learning options that build practical skills and provide strong preparation for senior studies and future employment. These pathways are supported by an extensive subject offering, including VET (Vocational Education and Training), Careers education, and a broad range of electives—from the Arts and Technologies to Digital Technology and Languages.

Beyond the classroom, we value the role of extra-curricular learning in building confidence, leadership, and a sense of belonging. Students are encouraged to participate in a variety of opportunities such as student leadership programs, interschool debating, instrumental music, competitive sport, and performing arts, all of which enrich the school experience.

We are committed to supporting every student to succeed. Homework Support is available across Years 7–12, alongside targeted support for VCE and ELC/International students. Extension and enrichment opportunities are offered through our Gifted and Talented programs, including the Victorian High Ability Program (VHAP), Keysborough Extension & Enrichment Program (KEEP), and STEM. Additional support in Literacy, Numeracy, and English as an Additional Language (EAL) ensures that students receive the assistance they need to flourish.

We encourage all families to partner with us by supporting students to make the most of the excellent facilities, resources, and expert teaching. With high expectations, strong effort, and active engagement, we believe every student can thrive at Keysborough Secondary College.
