Start Up Celebration Day
Our Start Up Program Celebration Day was a big success. Students had the chance to engage in a range of sports activities that were organised by a fantastic group of Year 6 leaders. Just a few examples of the twelve activities that were run by the leaders included:
- Obstacle courses
- Relay races
- Dodgeball
- Memory tag
- Cornhole and quoits
- Gaga ball
A huge thank you to the 50 Year 6 students who volunteered and did a fantastic job, on what was a warm (but wonderful) day.
Students also had a chance to meet the different teachers from their year level and design a leaf for our 2026 school mural titled, ‘We Learn and Grow Together’.
Our wonderful Education Support Staff have been feverishly laminating leaves for the mural in ever spare moment they have. Look for it to begin taking shape in the office foyer in the coming weeks.
Front of School Quiet Play Area
In week 4, we opened up our new front of school quiet play area. The quiet play area is a space for students to engage in a range of fun activities, in what we hope will be a relaxing and calm setting. The first few days have been very successful, with many students attending. On offer at Quiet Play are:
- Picnic rugs, cushions and colouring in materials
- Lawn games, including cornhole, quoits and mini bocce.
- Hula hoops and skipping ropes
Students attending the quiet play area will be support by staff to learn to play new games, take terms and collaborate with their peers. Quiet play will be open on Tuesday and Thursday, with the schedule below:
- Tuesday: Grade 1, Grade 3 and Grade 5
- Thursday: Grade 2, Grade 4 and Grade 6
Social Club will not run on Tuesdays and Thursdays and will be replaced by the quiet play area. Also note, students in Prep will spend time getting used to the regular yard, before having access to this space.
