House Leadership Reports

Apollo
HEY HEY HEY APOLLO!! It’s your House Captains Asliyah and Rhys back at it with another update.
First off, a big, big welcome to all our Year 9’s and new students! We are so excited to have you in the House and cannot wait to see what you’ll bring!
Swimming Carnival was right away this year and although we go fourth place, we pulled through with a 2nd place in House Spirit and 1st in the mini events which is definitely something to celebrate! Results aside, the entire leadership team has agreed that this year’s turn out was the best we’ve had in years, it filled us up with pride to see record numbers in the lanes and everyone giving it their all, so on behalf of your House Captains, Athira our Sport Captain and the rest of the leadership team, thank you all so much for your hard work and effort!
Swimming Carnival was just the first event of many this year, so get pumped, get planning and and get ready for so many more. Don’t think we’re done yet though, House Arts and House Dance are already starting up, House Drama is right around the corner and the big one, CHORALS, is already underway so get your singing voices ready because our Chorals Captain Archana and the chorals team are giving it their all so we will too!
Chorals is THE biggest event of the year and is worth the most points so make sure to practice our songs- ‘Get It Done’ and ‘There’s Nothing Holding Me Back’- with all you got!
These next few months are packed full of events so make sure to participate in everything you can. The pain of regret hurts much, much more than hard work so please, please sign up for everything you can, you never know if it’ll spark something amazing in you and we don’t want to hear ‘I wish I signed up for so and so’ from people anymore.
At the end of the day you lose nothing trying out something new so just give it a shot and give it all that you got! AND, if you know someone has a skill that can really make them shine, then it’s just as much your responsibility as it is theirs to make it seen!
THAT’S ALL FROM YOUR HOUSE CAPTAINS, UNTIL NEXT TIME!
- Asliyah and Rhys

Overall, as House Captains, we are really proud of all the effort that Blackwood has put into events in just 6-7 weeks! Keep up the great work. The more participation we have from Blackwood in various school events = more house points = 1st place!!!

Kororoit
WHAT’S GOOD KOROROIT!! Louise and Lochi here with a term 1 update!
A massive welcome to our year 9s, we’re so happy to have you! You’re in the best house, and we’re excited to see what you’ll bring.
This term we got straight into it with the Swimming Carnival and with massive contributions by our sport captain Dhriti and all of our amazing swimmers we secured SECOND PLACE!!! We couldn’t have done it without all of Kororoit working as a team to pull through, so CONGRATS KOROROIT. Even though we didn't get that top-of-the-podium finish, we KNOW that this doesn’t show our true potential as a house.
Chorals is already under way and your musicians are working very hard to secure that win, so we all need to do our part. Please practice our set and chosen songs “Get It Done” by Guy Sebastian and our favourite song “Live While We’re Young” by One Direction. You’ve all done so well in assembly so far, but we need to see everyone singing loudly and proudly.
That’s all from us, remember to check your google classroom for reminders on things coming up! BIG MOVES ARE BEING MADE KOROROIT, LET’S GO KOROROIT!!

Rothwell
HEYY YOUUU ROTHWELLLL!!!!
What a start to the term. We kicked 2026 off with Swimming Carnival, where the contagious and exhilarating energy led to us getting FIRST PLACE IN HOUSE SPIRIT (WOOOHOOOO)!!! We’d like to thank everyone who got involved in events and cheered on their fellow Rothwellians and repped our house with pride!! Also a cheeky shoutout to our Sports Cap Mitchell for his efforts!! KEEP UP THIS AMAZING ENERGY FOR THE REST OF THE YEAR!!
We’d also have a special shoutout to our amazing Year 9s who CAME FIRST IN PRIMUS!! 🥇 This elite effort has propelled Rothwell into FIRST PLACE IN THE HOUSE CUP STANDINGS (B B B B BOOM!!) We are all so proud of your achievements and we are confident that you can continue to bring back more mind-blowing wins like these!!
Make sure that we are blasting our Chorals Set song “Get It Done” by Guy Sebastian and also our hype Chosen Song : “Lush Life” by Zara Larsson!! 🎤🎤🎤 Our wonderful musicians and Chorals Captain Arlo are putting in loads of effort, so we need to do our part so we can dominate Chorals!!!
As SACs and tests begin to ramp up, we hope everyone prepares well, stays organised, and approaches each assessment with confidence and determination. Don’t take too much stress and make sure to have some fun as well!!
LET'S GO ROTHWELLLLLL!!!!
Signing off,
Your House Captains, Aryan and Yashi and the Rothwell Leadership Team
