Drama in Junior Secondary 

With the second ‘rotation’ of Year 7 and 8 Drama recently coming to a close, there has been a lot of ‘action’ on stage. The Year 7s adapted children’s storybooks into short plays, while the Year 8s presented ‘Funny Fairytales’. Students worked in groups to adapt stories into original performances, rehearsing and adding costumes and props. There were some delightful children’s plays and some hilarious fairytales with clever twists such as a sleeping prince being rescued by two ‘princesses’, Shrek being locked in a tower by an evil Olaf (the snowman), who tragically melts, and a crazy version of Beauty and the Beast complete with a bromance! 

There were songs, dances and lots of laughs. I can’t wait to see what the students create next!
