International Women's Day
To celebrate International Women’s Day we were visited by Leading Senior Constable Julie and Senior Constable Monique who share with our students their careers in policing as women. They shared their experiences, a day in the life of police, strengths that help them and the opportunities available. Our students got to see real police equipment and had a try of the very heavy police vest.
Interschool Sport
Well done to our Volleyballers. Despite a 3rd and 5th place finish they all enjoyed the day.
Blue EDGE Team Day Out – Tuesday 10 March
Fifteen Year 9 students from the Blue EDGE program recently enjoyed a fantastic Team Day Out at the Mt Evelyn YMCA Discovery Camp. The day was designed to strengthen teamwork, resilience, and leadership skills through a series of engaging outdoor activities.
Throughout the day, students participated enthusiastically in a range of team-building challenges. One highlight was the hut building activity, where teams worked together to design and construct shelters using natural materials. This task required cooperation, communication, and creativity as students combined their ideas and efforts.
Another exciting experience was the giant swing, which pushed many students outside their comfort zones. With encouragement from their peers, participants showed courage and determination as they took on the challenge. In addition, students completed a series of problem-solving activities that required careful planning, teamwork, and persistence.
Alongside the activities, students enjoyed a delicious lunch and had time to relax and reflect on the day’s experiences.
The camp coordinator was full of praise for the group, commending our students for their commitment, excellent behaviour, and willingness to participate in every activity. They represented the school with pride and demonstrated the positive values of the Blue EDGE program.
Overall, the day was a great success and provided valuable opportunities for students to build stronger connections, develop confidence, and practise important teamwork skills in a supportive outdoor environment.
