School Income Broken Down by Funding Source

The school receives funding from a number of different sources.

The income of Good Shepherd in 2024 can be summarised as follows:

Commonwealth Government

For recurrent purposes (daily running of the school)

including per capital funding and special grants.                 $ 5,151,046

For building and capital purchases                                           $ Nil

State Government Funding

Includes per capita and special needs funding                    $ 1,416,538

For Building and Capital Purchases                                         $ 48,400

Student Fees                                                                                   $ 1,981,861

Sundry Income                                                                               $ 137,783

Good Shepherd School Board and FRAC (Finance Risk Audit Compliance committee) work hard at keeping school fees low and school facilities to a high standard utilising the funding that we receive.

In 2024, while most of our income goes into the ongoing employment of staff to care for and educate students, there were a number of smaller projects that we rolled out across the school including;

  • The replacement of fluorescent tube lighting with LED lighting.
  • Installation of learning walls within the junior primary classrooms - providing space for more flexible learning.
  • Purchase of new classroom furniture for children in our five Stage 2 (yr 1/2) classrooms.
