Family Statements

Family Statements | FAQ

Earlier this week, we emailed everyone their Family Statement.

This is particularly useful for  3 / 4 Families who would like to use credit towards the remaining $425 camp cost.

Statements are autogenerated to be emailed to PARENT A.

They are likely to be found in your Inbox of Junk Mail.

You may have opened it and thought... what am I even looking at?

What am I looking at?

These statements can be confusing to read at first.

The main point is to look at is the bottom line.

You are looking to see if you have credit on your school account (left over SSB, or CSEF).  A credit is shown as a negative.

Confusing right?

Here is an example of the bottom of a statement.

In this example : This family has an invoice for $10 ( likely an excursion).

This family has CSEF on their account showing as a - (negative) figure. - $25.

This means, they have $25 credit to use to cover activities and camps and excursions.

This family also has -$350 unallocated funds . A negative (-) amount, is credit.

This means, they have $375 to use towards future activities, camps, etc.

These funds remain here until they are used up, or the student leaves the school

How do I use credit?

When the SENTRAL permission / payment is published, you select they way to pay.

In this example, I would encourage the family to use all their credit - by nominating either the CSEF or School Credit option on the Sentral permission.

IMPORTANT: If you choose a CSEF or School Credit option, the SENTRAL invoice will remain as UNPAID for a few days. It is a manual process to make the allocation in Cases21 (Government system) and Sentral.

What if I nominate credit, but don't have enough

( Year 3 / 4 Camp Families may not have the total amount in credit)

We will make contact to let you know - a top up payment may be required.

You can 'top up' via the BPay details on your statement. Those details are specific to your family.

SSB | Family Statement confusion.

There have been a number of technical issues that have seen inaccurate data appear on family statements. We have worked hard to identify and remove errors. If you feel your statement is not correct, please send me an email and I will investigate.

SSB | Uniform Purchases

If you used some SSB funds at Beleza , the invoice will show up on your Family Statement. The school paid that invoice on your behalf using your SSB.

What's next?

We encourage families to use their credit as much as possible.

Family statements are emailed at the beginning of each term so families can better understand their credit status.

If you have any questions, please drop by the office or email me at ballarat.ps.dana@education.vic.gov.au
