A Big Thank You to Our Parents and Friends Association

We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our wonderful Parents and Friends Association for their generous support in providing our school with new decodable book sets and Sphero robotics equipment.

Supporting a Love of Reading

Our new collection of decodable books is already making a wonderful difference in our classrooms and as take-home readers. The collection ranges from early-learning texts through to engaging chapter books, providing resources that support students as they develop their reading skills all the way through to Year 6.

The students have been thoroughly enjoying exploring the new books and the wide range of topics, stories and genres available to them. We are incredibly fortunate to have such a rich collection of physical books that students can access every day, allowing them to experience reading both for learning and for enjoyment.

Parents and families play an integral role in helping children develop as confident and enthusiastic readers. One of the greatest ways we can support learning across all areas of the curriculum is by encouraging children to read regularly, talk about what they are reading and, most importantly, discover the joy that comes from a great book.

Creating, Coding and Problem-Solving with Sphero

We would also like to thank our Parents and Friends Association for the new Sphero equipment in our STEAM room. Our students have already had a fantastic time learning with these robotic tools, using coding to program and instruct the Spheros to move and complete different challenges.

These hands-on learning experiences encourage students to think critically, problem-solve, experiment and get creative. Technology such as Sphero helps bring learning to life, igniting curiosity and giving students opportunities to explore ideas in new and exciting ways.

Whether our students are discovering a new book or programming a robot, these resources help foster the curiosity, creativity and confidence that support a lifelong passion for learning.
