Congratulations to Year 9 Elective Drama student, Violet for gaining a lead role in the Northern Beaches Youth Theatre company's production of Gale by Emily Golden. 

Description - From the Northern Beaches Youth Theatre Company website: 

Northern Beaches Youth Theatre presents the international premiere of Gale by Emily Golden; a fresh, funny and heartfelt play inspired by The Wizard of Oz, exploring what “there’s no place like home” means when you’re the new kid at school. When Gale is uprooted into a strange new environment, minus her dog and facing off against the queen bee and her flying cheerleaders, she must find her courage, her people, and a new sense of belonging.

Set in a modern high school world with a magical twist, this production is packed with sharp humour, big feelings, important issues and a whole lot of heart, making it a perfect outing out for teens, families and local theatre lovers. Audiences can expect a fast‑paced youth ensemble performance that blends pop‑culture references with timeless themes of home, friendship and healing.

Gale runs from June 18th to 27th, 2026 at 10 Jubilee Ave, Warriewood, proudly produced by Northern Beaches Youth Theatre. Please note that Gale has a PG rating due to mild swear words used within context of the story.
