Dear Parents and Carers,
Last Saturday, members of our school community attended the Hume ANZAC Day service held at ANZAC Park. It was a an opportunity to pause in reflection; honouring the service and sacrifice of those who have served our country. We are incredibly proud of our MTPS School Captains, who represented our school with great respect as they laid a wreath at the shrine during the 10:00am service.

On Monday, our ANZAC learning continued in the classroom, with students engaging in activities to deepen their understanding of ANZAC Day. Some students took part in making traditional ANZAC biscuits, while learning about their historical significance of why these biscuits were sent by families to soldiers serving overseas during the war. After learning about their importance, students enjoyed the opportunity to share in eating an ANZAC biscuit together. A huge thank you to Mrs Bernadette Jacovids & Mrs Michelle Perri for supporting the student in making the biscuits for all to enjoy.

This week at Assembly, I was very excited to announce the final school leadership positions for 2026. A huge congratulations to 2026 MTPS school leaders who join our School Captains and faith leaders announced last term.

Assembly
With our student leaders now elected, we will be moving towards student led assemblies this term. With this in mind, we would like to invite all parents to attend our whole school assemblies each Monday afternoon from 2:35pm to 3:00pm. During assembly, we introduce our PBL value and expected behaviour for the week. Teachers then continue the PBL value & expectation in a lesson afterwards. Please note that even if you are attending assembly, students cannot be dismissed early unless there is a valid reason. We are all looking forward to having parents join us at our weekly Monday afternoon assemblies.
PBL & Wellbeing

Next Tuesday 5.00-6.00pm our Deputy Principal & Wellbeing Leader Darren will be hosting a Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) & Wellbeing session. All families are welcome to attend to find out more about what we are doing here at MTPS to support student behaviour through our school wide PBL approach as well as other initiatives happening in student wellbeing.
Mother's Day - Save the Date!

As we approach Mother’s Day, we take this opportunity to celebrate and acknowledge the special people in our students’ lives who nurture, support and care for them each and every day. Whether it is mums, grandmothers, carers or other significant figures, this day is a chance to say thank you for the love, guidance and encouragement they provide.
