As always, we love catching up with news from our former Collegians.

Reunion 2000-2010

Despite the bitterly wintry weather last Friday night, our Reunion with our Old Boys from the classes of 2000-2010 was filled with immense warmth and excitement.

We commenced the evening in our College Chapel as Peter Banfield and Tina Giacco welcomed everyone back to their alma mater. It was amazing to see that despite the years, most of our Old Boys still looked almost the same as when they were students at Mazenod College. The buzz of excitement was palpable; the joy was tangible, and everyone’s faces radiated with beautiful smiles and happiness. Sean Sullivan, the President of our Mazenod Old Collegians’ Association joined us and articulated MOCA’s aims in fostering friendships and connections amongst our Old Boys. From the Chapel, we had a tour of our College. The gasps of excitement were audible, as our Old Boys could not believe some of the new buildings and innovations they encountered, including air-conditioned and heated classrooms. Simultaneously, they were excited about seeing their former classrooms, recreational areas, and about re-living their memories from the past.

Following our tour, we gathered in our College Cafeteria, and remained onsite for our food and drinks, great conversations, and for the strengthening of friendships. Chartwells Caterers who look after our College Canteen, did a fantastic job serving us our food and drinks. The evening was an enormous success! It was fabulous to gather with our Old Boys as they regaled us with their anecdotes and memories from the past. Amongst others, their precious memories included their wonderful stories about our beloved and highly esteemed former Deputy Principal of Students and Staff, Mr Michael Pennefather, RIP. Their memories of their time at Mazenod were magnificent!

The evening was amazing: Mazenod Old Boys, friendship, fun, joy and laughs reigned supreme throughout the night! It was an amazingly fabulous evening!

Mazenod Old Collegian (MOC 2021) Law Graduate: Employment Wanted

“I am a recent law graduate looking for legal work. In particular, I am looking for graduate roles or roles that are functionally similar, such as a paralegal role. I would also be open to legal assistant roles if it were not solely administrative. My experience includes working as an administration assistant and a collections officer in a debt recovery firm, as well as shadowing and conducting legal research for barristers. Furthermore, while I have experience in debt recovery and possess a particular interest in both criminal law and administrative law, I am open to roles in any area of law. Tina Giacco was one of my former teachers and is an apt referee. For further information, please contact Marcus on 0439 553 314.”
