It has been a very busy term, and it all finishes with Country Week next week in Perth. We have had all the training we can fit in, teams have been selected, and everything is ready for a fabulous week of sport, socialising, and the opportunity to make new friends and acquaintances from all over the state. It is always amazing to see some 4,000 students and support staff at the venues for the start of the week.

We have around 72 students competing in basketball, volleyball, netball, hockey, and football for the week. It should be an amazing experience, despite the current weather forecast.

Tuesday night netball saw a massive win for our girls in the town competition, well done.

Positive Behaviour Rewards

Murphy Riley is this term’s winner, earning 23 tokens and receiving a shearing jumper as his prize. Patrick Kilrain placed second, also demonstrating a strong commitment to positive behaviour. In addition, eight other students with varying token totals were rewarded with Boost Juice vouchers and Tim Tams. Congratulations to all students on their efforts and contributions to creating a positive environment at the College.

Pool Comp

The pool competition is down to the final two players, who will play off early next term for the crown of best pool player. In the boys’ division, it will be between Oscar Tozer and last year’s winner, Aidan Walker.

In the girls’ competition, we still have a couple more playoff games before the final two are decided. With illness and absences, it has been quite a drawn-out process this year.

End of Term

Just a reminder to boarders that rooms must be left appropriately so cleaners can complete a thorough end-of-term clean. We have an amazing group of ladies who go above and beyond to assist all the students, and this is an opportunity for us to support them in return.

Please ensure all benchtops are clear, beds are stripped, and all dirty laundry is either taken home or placed in the onsite laundry. These are simple tasks that greatly assist the team in completing a thorough clean.

Illnesses

There has been a significant number of cold- and flu-like illnesses in recent weeks, and we ask that students continue to practise good hygiene habits. This will help us continue to operate effectively through the cold and wet months ahead.

Good luck to all participants at Country Week next week. Don’t forget to get around, support everyone across all sports, and assist staff in any way you can, so that it is an enjoyable week and one we all have great memories of for years to come.

Enjoy your break, and we will see you all back here for Term 3.
