This Sunday the 7th of September, Pope Leo XIV will officially welcome Blessed Carlo Acutis as a Saint in the Catholic Church.
Born in London in 1991 and raised in Milan, Carlo grew up in a Catholic family and entered the Church with an extraordinary love for the Eucharist, which he described as “his highway to heaven”. Gifted with a talent for computers, he created a multilingual website that described the Eucharistic miracles around the word.
His daily life was marked by helping classmates in need, sharing his resources with the poor, and living simply despite a comfortable background.
When diagnosed with a terminal illness, Carlo faced his pain with peace, offering it for Jesus to show him the way to heaven. Beatified in 2020, Pope Francis highlighted him as a model of prayer, witness, and charity for young people, highlighting his joyful faith, compassionate service, and skilful use of modern media to evangelize.
Loving God,
Thank You for the gift of the Eucharist,
the highway that leads us to You.
Help us to follow Carlo’s example:
to pray each day, to share with those in need, and to use technology
to tell others about Your love.
May we always keep You close in our hearts, today and forever.
Amen
Blessed Carlo Acutis - Pray for us
On Thursday the 28th of August, our Social Justice Leaders presented our "Stock the Pantry" donation drive to 8 other schools in the Eastern Region at Genazzano College in Kew. They spoke with amazing leadership and knowledge of our fundraiser for St. Vincent De Paul's Winter Appeal and the audience was amazed with the efforts of our School Community.
On Thursday the 29th of August, we went to Genazzano College for a St. Vincent De Paul Event with other schools. David really loved going to a different school, Genazzano was very different to OLPS, the buildings looked older but were definitely way bigger. Faith enjoyed meeting new people and Samuel even made a new friend called Adam who loved Cristiano Ronaldo as much as he did. Marina, Armanita and Gabby were very impressed with our presentation because of how nervous they were. They surprised themselves and felt very supported by the other schools. Melissa loved the ideas that were shared during the day because they were the same types of things we have been thinking about at our school. It was a great experience shared by all.
The Sacramental program has concluded for the 2025 school year. We look forward to beginning this process with you again in 2026.
