Principal's News

What an amazing morning we had last Friday! Thank you to everyone at Sunrise for the wonderful experience, especially camera person, Kaine. Hats off to our fabulous parent community for so strongly supporting this event with such short notice. We especially appreciated those who came dressed for the occasion. Our students were brilliant and their costumes were fabulous! They were patient and respectful while waiting  for the live cross. And that was based on a 30 minute practice session the afternoon before! Thanks to staff, always ready to support our children in a variety of ways. Finally, biggest thanks to Allison who attracted Sunrise's attention through her social media posts building interest for Book Week. Biggests thanks to her for her ongoing passion, energy and enthusiasm.

And of course, our Book Week parade and Gallery Walk were also very special, as usual. This year our SRC organised our Pre-loved Book sale which was a fabulous way to promote reading.

Book Week is a joyful celebration of reading and imagination. Books open us to new people, places and perspectives, and that sense of curiosity and wonder is something  we really want to nurture in every child at HR.

Father's Day Celebration

See you this morning from 7:45am.

Swimming 2026

Our 2026 swimming program will run in two phases: Years 1/2 and 5/6 will attend at the end of Term 3 while Prep and Years 3/4 will participate in late October and early November.  Notification forms have already been sent via nForma Parents to all Year 1/2 and 5/6 families. If you have not yet completed this form, please respond as soon as possible. Parents of Year 1/2 and 5/6 students have also received a hard-copy Consent Form, which must be returned by Tuesday 1 September. Returning this form is crucial, as it enables the Aquatic Centre staff to accurately place your child into the appropriate swimming group.

Leaving HR?

Our plans are well underway for the 2027 year! We kindly ask families to let us know if your child will not be returning to HR next year. Having this information helps us with class planning, staffing, and welcoming new families into our community. Please notify the school office as soon as possible.

Student Free Day

Our Student Free Day is this Friday. MACSeye is open.

Have a wonderful week ahead,
