Science Week Mystery!

Our students became scientists for Science Week, working in teams to solve clues and complete a whole-school scavenger hunt. Each class discovered a mysterious fragment, which was brought to our special assembly and used to slowly reveal a hidden picture — and our final surprise!

Every student received their own Pea Pot to grow and care for.

Don’t forget: keep your cotton wool damp, give your Pea Pot plenty of sunshine, and watch for that grass hair to start growing!

Book Week Assembly with Parade

We celebrated the end of Book Week with an Assembly and a parade.   Students and teachers came to the parade in many beautiful costumes, dressed as their favourite book character!   Thank you to everyone who helped put these costumes together, ensuring the students had a wonderful day!

2026 Sports Day!

Our students enjoyed perfect weather for a 2026 Sports Day!  Last Friday, 18 September, Clovelly Park Primary School came together for our annual Sports Day. It was a fantastic day of competition, participation and school spirit, with students, staff and families getting involved and supporting their Houses.

We kicked off the day with enthusiastic House chants, followed by an energetic Fitness Hustle getting everyone moving and creating plenty of excitement before the events began.

Students from Reception to Year 6 then took part in 10 tabloid events, rotating through a range of activities and challenges while representing their Houses. We were also fortunate to have Alex Cornelius from SACA and Bailey Gaskin from SANFL join us for the day. Both provided engaging activities that gave students the opportunity to try something different and develop their sporting skills. A big thank you to Alex and Bailey for supporting our Sports Day. Throughout the morning, students showed determination, teamwork and sportsmanship, with plenty of encouragement between students and Houses.

After lunch, the excitement continued with our House relay.  Each House was represented by a boy and girl from every year level, resulting in an exciting and closely contested race that had students, staff and families cheering from the sidelines. We then moved into the Reception to Year 6 sprints, with selected students from each year level taking part in the races. Students proudly represented their Houses, with plenty of encouragement and support from their classmates and families.

The afternoon also included a number of fun community races, including:

  • Parent and Teacher Races, which provided plenty of laughs and friendly competition.
  • Parents vs Teachers/Students Tug-of-War, which brought everyone together for a memorable finish to the day.

When all the points had been counted, the final House results were:

Good Spirit Cup

       2. Mitchell (Yellow) – 269 points       2. Sturt (Blue) – 293 points

       3. Flinders (Green) – 267 points       4. Marion (Red) – 288 points

Congratulations to Marion (Red) for winning the Good Spirit Cup and to Flinders (Green) for taking first place in the Tabloid Events and being crowned the overall Sports Day winners.

A huge thank you to our Sports Day Committee, staff, students, parents and special guests for helping make Sports Day such a successful and enjoyable event. It was fantastic to see everyone come together, get active, support one another and celebrate teamwork, participation and school spirit.

Loose Parts Play

Loose Parts Play kicked off last week, with children having a wonderful time building houses, making potions and getting creative! Available during Friday playtimes, these open-ended play opportunities encourage children to use their imaginations, work together and explore new ideas. We look forward to seeing what they create next!
