The VCE Biology students attended the Gene Technology Access Centre (GTAC) in Melbourne on Friday 22nd August. To begin, the students were able to showcase their knowledge in a modelling activity before completing two different practicals using high tech equipment we do not have at school. Data was collected based on vaccinations in cattle and the control of mastitis in dairy cows. They will now analyse this data in class as part of their assessment tasks for Unit 4 Biology.
The staff at GTAC were impressed with the level of knowledge of our students, this should be a confidence boost to our VCE Biology cohort as we head into the final weeks of learning!
