Principal's Patch

From the Principal – Term Celebration & Holiday Wishes
As we wind up Term 3, I would like to take this opportunity to wish all members of our school community a wonderful and restful September holiday period. What a fantastic term it has been at Palm Beach State School! A special shout-out to all our students, staff, and families for making this term so successful – and of course… Go the mighty Brisbane Broncos!
Auslan – Our New Language Program
We are thrilled to introduce Auslan (Australian Sign Language) as our language program from next term. Auslan is the primary language of the Australian Deaf community and learning it offers students unique skills in communication, inclusivity, and cultural understanding. We are especially excited to welcome our Auslan teacher, Ashleigh Forsyth, to Palm Beach State School. Ashleigh brings a wealth of experience and enthusiasm, and her bio is attached to this newsletter. Please join us in giving her a warm welcome to our school community.
Year 4-6 Deputy Principal – Term 4
Next term, Mr Upton will be on leave. We are pleased to welcome Mrs Krista I’Anson as Acting Deputy Principal for Term 4. Mrs I’Anson joins us from Palm Beach Currumbin SHS, bringing valuable experience and expertise. I know you will make her feel welcome and supported in her new role.
Under 8’s Day
Our Under 8’s Day was another huge success! A sincere thank-you to Mrs Groot and Mrs Shepherd for their outstanding work in organising this event. It was wonderful to see our younger students engaged in fun, educational activities and enjoying time with friends and family.
Slime Run – Fun for All!
A big shout-out to our P&C for organising such a fantastic Slime Run day. The event was a huge success, full of laughter, excitement, and, of course, lots of slime! Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make the day so memorable.
New Piano
As you walk past the Year 4 undercover area, you may hear the tinkling of the ivories as we have a new piano for students to enjoy! A massive thank-you to the Metcalfe family for their kind donation of this valued instrument to our school.
E-Bikes in School Grounds
We again remind all parents not to ride e-bikes on school grounds, even if the leadership team are not at the gates, the bell has gone, or students are in class. Safety is our top priority, and we appreciate your support in keeping our students safe.
Playgrounds After School
A reminder to parents that all playgrounds are out of bounds before and after school for school students and younger siblings. Please help us by not letting your children use this equipment during these times.
We look forward to welcoming all students back next term, ready for another exciting and successful term of learning.
Warm regards,
Scott
