Policy Focus

Administration of Medication Policy
The Administration of Medication Policyexplains to parents, carers, students and staff the processes our school will follow to safely manage the provision of medication to students while at school or school activities, including camps and excursions.
If a student requires medication, Golden Square Primary School encourages parents/carers to arrange for the medication to be taken outside of school hours. However, we understand that students may need to take medication at school or while attending school activities.
If your child does need to be administered medication while attending school (including camps and excursions), whether that be for a short time or ongoing, please take the time to familiarise yourself with the Administration of Medication Policy.
Administration of Medication Authority Form
To support the safe administration of medication at school, we ask to please list each required dose separately on the Administration of Medication Authority Form.
For example, if your child requires the same medication and dose at both 9:00 am and 1:00 pm, please record these as two individual entries rather than combining them into one.
This clarity helps staff to accurately follow medical instructions, reduces the risk of confusion, and most importantly supports the safety and wellbeing of all students.
