Term 1 Wrap-Up

As we come to the end of Term 1, we want to take a moment to thank our whole school community for the way you have worked alongside us to support your children. It has been an overwhelmingly positive start to the year and in no small part because of the partnership between home and school.

This was on full display at Monday’s Years 3–6 Athletics Day. It was a fantastic community event, with so many parents giving their time to help out, and to be there supporting and cheering everyone on. It was great to also see a number of past students from Crusoe College returning to support the day.

Our Year 5/6 students have just returned from camp, and we are incredibly proud of the way they represented our school. They showed resilience, teamwork and a willingness to challenge themselves. Teachers came back exhausted of course, but so positive about the way the way the kids made the most of every opportunity and of how they conducted themselves.

At the other end of the school, our Prep students have now completed their first term. It has been wonderful to see how settled and confident they have become in such a short time. They have embraced school life and are already showing themselves to be capable and enthusiastic learners.

Throughout the term, our teachers have been working together to strengthen their practice, with a focus on the new Victorian Lesson Plans. This means being deliberate about how lessons are structured and how we build on what students already know - using clear, explicit instruction to make learning as accessible as possible for every student.

We have also continued to build our whole-school approach to positive behaviour, with a strong focus on teaching and reinforcing our expectations so that all students feel safe, supported and ready to learn. Alongside this, we remain committed to inclusion, ensuring that students who need additional support receive it through targeted programs, adjustments in the classroom, and through the work of our wellbeing and support staff.

Thank you again for a wonderful Term 1. We hope you all have an eggcellent break - you've all earned it. We look forward to seeing everyone back refreshed and ready for Term 2.

Please don't forget we have a 2:30 pm finish on Thursday (tomorrow).
