Dear St Michael’s School families,
PRAYER
This week our classes shared an Easter prayer which reflected on the Reusrrection stories - The Empty Tomb; Jesus and the Disciples; the Emmaus Story. One of the prayers we shared in our classes this week was the following:
Risen Christ,
We give thanks for the new life you have given us.
Show us how to be loving and forgiving,
To live in hope and make a change,
So that all people may live in peace.
Amen.
He is Risen. Alleluia!
MOTHER'S DAY EVENTS
We invite all families to take part in our events for Mother's day (breakfast and Mother's day stall) to celebrate this special day. Please see the PFA News page for details and to book and pay for tickets.
After the breakfast on Friday 1st May, we invite Mothers and Carers to take part in a short activity in the classroom until 9.30am. We look forward to seeing you there!

OFFICIAL ST MICHAEL'S 80TH ANNIVERSARY MERCHANDISE
Get yours now!!
To acknowledge and celebrate our 80th anniversary, we are selling the following official merchandise through our uniform shop. Great value for quality products.
STUDENT LEARNING PORTFOLIOS
Hopefully you took some time over the holidays to review your child's Learning Portfolio to see their writing sample from Term 1 and the accompanying assessment rubric aligned with the Writing Curriculum. This hard-copy portfolio replaces the use of the online platform, Seesaw, for the time being. This is one of the changes made directly in response to the feedback sought from parents by the School Advisory Council in 2025.
If you haven't already done so, please sign the front page of the portfolio and return it to your child's classroom teacher as soon as possible. Further pieces of student work from different areas of the curriculum will follow as the year progresses.
FINAL STUDENT DAY FOR 2026
Wednesday 16th December, 12 noon finish - We notify parents now that we will have an early finish on our final student day this year. Please note the date has not changed, only the finishing time. This will enable staff to gather in the afternoon of that day to hold their annual 'handover' to the following year's teachers; a process which can often take up to three hours to complete. We hope this does not cause too much inconvenience to families, especially with the early notification. TheirCare will also be notified of the early finish on this day. Thank you for your understanding.
ST MICHAEL'S VEGGIE GARDEN
This week, our Prep students enthusiastically planted seeds using damp paper towels, beginning the germination process. Over the coming weeks, we look forward to watching these seeds develop into healthy seedlings, which will then be carefully transplanted into our vegetable garden later in the term.
Tomorrow the busy bees in Three/Four B will be planting seedlings for heirloom cabbage and cauliflower into the trugs. Stay tuned for photos of these next week! Don't forget to bring your gloves!
CONGRATULATIONS THEO AND THE TEAM!!
On Sunday 12th April, Theo Korb-Chong's soccer team - the Eastern Lions u8s - took out the Western United Cup in Geelong. It was a two day competition and the boys had a nail biting final against Werribee City FC on Sunday. It was 0-0 when the whistle blew at full time but the Lions prevailed after a thrilling penalty shootout. The win sets the team up nicely for the upcoming 2026 soccer season. What a holiday he had!!
