VET Hospitality – Shaking, Blending and Brewing!

This term, our VET Hospitality students have been busy developing their skills as part of SITHFAB024 – Prepare and Serve Non-Alcoholic Beverages.

Students have been learning how to prepare and present a wide range of beverages, including carbonated drinks, frappés, freshly squeezed juices, hot drinks, milkshakes, mocktails and smoothies. There has been plenty of opportunity to experiment with different flavours, ingredients and presentation techniques, with students enjoying the chance to get creative and put their own spin on their drinks.

Along the way, students have been building important hospitality skills, including using beverage-making equipment safely, following recipes, maintaining hygiene standards and presenting drinks professionally.

This week marks an exciting milestone as students begin their first round of practical assessments. They will have the opportunity to demonstrate the skills they have been developing and show that they can prepare and serve beverages to industry standards.

It has been great to see the students growing in confidence, experimenting with new ideas and, most importantly, having plenty of fun along the way!
