GRADE 5 CAMP

Good day people reading this newsletter.
We would like to share our lovely experience at the M.C.G. Firstly we had a tour of the stadium. We were unexpectedly greeted by a horrible smell because builders were resurfacing the ground after an AC/DC concert.
The presence of red wine filled the air as we walked into the club rooms. We could imagine sweaty men peeling off their dirty socks and chucking them into their lockers. It wasn’t a very nice thought.
Then we went to the recording studios where all the interviews are filmed. Cameras and microphones everywhere you looked.
Now for the exciting part… THE SPORTS MUSEUM!!! There were lots of interactive sporting games. Everyone was enjoying themselves so much. No-one wanted to leave. We also got to design our own characters.
It was incredible!!!

The Eureka Skydeck was intimidating. As we arrived by tram we all looked up and we were shocked by how tall the Skydeck was. The groups walked into the building and turned a right into the VR room. It was dark in there, and pods with red cushions and headsets were scattered in an array across the room. We got strapped in one by one and the experience started. We went to 12 different famous land markers in Victoria. Shayaan’s favourite was the Luna Park and Archie’s favourite was the MCG. After we did the VR room we headed to the elevator and went 88 floors to the Skydeck. We spent a bit of time looking through the telescopes and finding landmarks. After that Shayaan, Levi and Josh spent 17 minutes straight out on the balcony, it was really cold, and we started playing with cards. Archie, Archie and Oscar went out to the balcony, and it was so windy and cold. Everyone’s hats started to fly off, and it was crazy!

The wave pool was epic. The waves mounted over us! It was jam packed. Kids were everywhere. There were water jets that showered over us as well. The inflatable course was a hit! Kids were slipping at every corner. We only had 20 seconds to get to the other end. It was a real challenge and SO fun.
Children gathered to the diving platform. Some excited and some nervous. We did fantastic bombs. That was our wonderful time at MSAC.
