A Place to Belong
On Saturday evening, our boarders came together for Gibson House’s special event of the year, a Daffodil Day themed celebration that brought warmth, laughter and community spirit to the Boarding House.
The evening featured a sausage sizzle, an entertaining talent show judged by Boarding Captains Shelley and Sally and Year 12 boarders Hayley, and a cosy campfire where students enjoyed making and sharing s’mores.
Events like these play an important role in boarding life. They provide opportunities for students to connect with one another, strengthen friendships and create a genuine sense of belonging away from home. The talent show was a particular highlight, giving boarders the chance to share their hidden talents and celebrate each other's achievements in a supportive and encouraging environment.

A reminder that Friday 4 September is a student free day, however, QGSSSA and BBI sport will go ahead on Friday and Saturday.
End of Term
As we edge closer to the end of term, please advise us as soon as possible of travel plans for your child if you have not to date.
Term 3 will conclude at 3:10pm on Thursday 17 September. Please note, the QGSSSA Athletics Championship is being held on this day with all students expected to be in attendance. A reminder that the Boarding House transports boarders on Boarder Travel Day and after school on the last day of term only.
Staffing Update
Tina Mills has commenced her well-deserved long service leave break and will return for Term 4.
Weekend Boarding Supervisor Kim Holman will be supporting the Year 11 and 12 boarders in Tina’s absence. Please direct any communication to: ksearle@clayfield.qld.edu.au.
Driving
A reminder, if boarders require any driving, as per our conditions in the Boarding Handbook, please complete the Boarder Transport Application Form and return toboarding@clayfield.qld.edu.autwo weeks before the request.
Please note, health appointments are made by advice from our Health Centre and do not require the completion of this Boarder Transport Application Form.
