Learning Diversity: PSG (Program Support Group) Meeting

At Holy Rosary, we are committed to supporting the full flourishing of every child in our care through strong partnerships with families. As a school we continue to strive to improve and refine our practices.

We value and celebrate diversity. We aim to give every child the chance to learn and succeed through inclusive practices and high-quality, flexible teaching.

Some children need extra support or adjustments to help with learning, behaviour, wellbeing, health or cultural needs. We know that working closely with families makes a real difference.

When children have diverse needs, strong partnerships between home and school help them feel supported and successful. Parents know their child best and parent knowledge and ideas are important in helping us support children at school.

One way in which we work together is through PSGs (Program Support Group Meeting). PSG is a collaborative, respectful and positive space where everyone’s voice matters and we work as a team to support children's learning and wellbeing.

Through PSGs, we:

*talk about a child's learning and wellbeing needs

*use school information and specialist reports to plan supports and adjustments

*share advice with staff about what helps a child

*review progress and celebrate successes and set new goals

*create or review plans such as: Personalised Learning Plans, Behaviour Support Plans, Safety Plans, Medical or Health Plans and/or Cultural Plans (if/when required)

At times, we may need to access specialist advice when/where needed.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you would like to discuss this further or have any additional questions.
