So far this term, our Foundation students have been busy exploring informative writing, with a special focus on writing factual information about animals. We began by learning all about koalas and used what we discovered to write simple factual sentences about these amazing Australian animals.
Students recorded interesting facts about where koalas live, what they eat and their unique features. They did a wonderful job using simple sentences to share their knowledge and include interesting details in their writing. We are so proud of the effort, enthusiasm and growing confidence they are showing as young writers!
Here are some examples of what some of our Foundation students have produced so far. We are so proud of the wonderful writing, illustrations and interesting facts they have shared!
Each week, we will introduce the students to a new native Australian animal, giving them the opportunity to learn fascinating facts and continue developing their informative writing skills.
And there is even more excitement to come! In Week 3, our learning will come to life when we get up close and personal with some incredible Australian reptiles during our special Reptile Encounters incursion!
We can't wait to see what fascinating facts our Foundation students discover and share next!
