Spreading Christmas Joy Through Song

On December 6th, the GWPS Junior and Senior Choirs embarked on a heart warming Christmas carol excursion, sharing festive cheer with our local community. Our first stop was The Glen Shopping Centre, where students proudly represented our school, singing joyfully despite the summer heat. The carols brought smiles to the faces of passersby, many of whom stopped to listen and share in the festive spirit. Parents joined in support, and the event became a beautiful moment of connection through music.

Here’s what some of our students had to say about the experience:

  • “I think singing at The Glen is a great idea. People don’t need to go to a concert; we bring it to them.” – Patrick, 6C
  • “We get to showcase our talents at The Glen.” – Ayaan, 6E
  • “I thought it was a great opportunity to sing to the people at The Glen.” – Aaria, 5E

Afterward, we visited the Australian Unity Campbell Place Aged Care Centre, where we sang to the elderly residents. Their warm smiles, kind words, and even a few tears of joy showed how much they appreciated our performance. As a special encore, the choir sang for the dedicated staff at the reception area, leaving a lasting impression.

Feedback from the staff was heartfelt:

  • “We are so impressed! The kids put their hearts and soul into it. Their expressions were fantastic!”

This memorable excursion not only showcased our students' talents but also reinforced the power of music to bring people together.
