Reconciliation Week - 

Wear It Yellow Day

On Tuesday 2nd June, students were invited to wear yellow to support Children's Ground, an organisation that supports the education, wellbeing and cultural strength of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and young people. Students were encouraged to bring a gold coin donation. 

 

Brunswick South West Primary School raised $382.80. Our students demonstrated their passion for community, arriving in a wonderful sea of yellow outfits. We would also like to thank one family for their particularly generous donation. 

 

This year's National Reconciliation Week theme was All In, encouraging all Australians to commit wholeheartedly to reconciliation through their everyday actions. Our school embraced this message, with students proudly wearing yellow, whether it was a Matildas jersey, a tracksuit or another favourite yellow outfit. 

 

National Reconciliation Week is a time to learn about and reflect on Australia's shared histories, cultures and achievements. It provides an opportunity to acknowledge the experiences of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, recognise the impacts of past injustices, and consider how we can all contribute to a more respectful and inclusive future.
