Year 11 Camp Fundraising
Year 11 VCE VM students have held a number of fundraising events during the last few weeks, helping to raise money for their end of year camp. Undertaking everything from car washes and sausage sizzles to selling hot pies, students have been busy raising as many funds as they possibly can. The creation, promotion and fulfillment of each event has taught the students essential life skills including budgeting, time management and teamwork, all of which will be valuable in the near future.
Master Chef Challenge
On Monday the 1st June, the year 12 VCE-VM class took part in a Master Chef Challenge. It was a fun and engaging way to complete an assessment task. Students applied their literacy and critical thinking skills to collaboratively plan, prepare and create a 2 course meal, consisting of a main dish and dessert. With a budget of $40 per group, students walked to the local IGA to purchase their ingredients, before working together in their teams to deliver some impressive dishes. Massive thanks to Mr. Schier, Mr. Wright and Jackie Kerr for giving up their lunch-time to be the competition judges. All students should be extremely proud of the skill and commitment that they showed throughout this task.
