Dear families,
Curriculum Day Reminder Monday 25th May
A reminder to families that Monday will be a Curriculum Day at Williamstown Primary School, with students not required to attend school on this day.
Staff will be utilising the Curriculum Day to undertake assessment moderation, student reporting processes and curriculum planning to support consistency and high-quality teaching and learning practices across the school.
We look forward to welcoming students back to school on Tuesday.
Mother’s Day Luncheon
Tomorrow we look forward to welcoming many of our mums, carers and special guests to our annual Mother’s Day Luncheon coordinated by Julia Germon and the Friends of Willy team.
This much-loved community event continues to be a wonderful opportunity to celebrate and acknowledge the important role mothers and carers play within the lives of our Willy Kids and broader school community. Events such as these are only possible through the extraordinary efforts of our volunteers, and we sincerely thank Julia and the Friends of Willy team for the significant time, organisation and care that has gone into preparing for tomorrow’s luncheon.
We look forward to a fantastic afternoon together celebrating our wonderful school community.
National Walk to School Day
Today our Willy Kids proudly participated in National Walk to School Day, with many students walking, scootering and riding to school as part of the nationwide initiative promoting healthy, active and environmentally friendly travel.
It was fantastic to see so many students arrive with energy and enthusiasm this morning, while also demonstrating safe and respectful behaviours around our school grounds and surrounding streets. Thank you to all families for supporting the day and encouraging active travel within our community.
2027 Prep Enrolment Tours Continue
Our 2027 Prep enrolment and transition program continues next week with our third school tour taking place on Thursday 28th May at 2:30pm.
The strong attendance and positive feedback from our tours to date has been wonderful and continues to showcase the strong sense of community, student voice and learning culture that exists at Williamstown Primary School.
We encourage any prospective families considering Williamstown Primary School for 2027 to register and attend one of our tours to experience firsthand what it means to be a Willy Kid.
Free Fruit Friday
Following the success of our recent trial, our next Free Fruit Friday will take place next Friday 29th May.
Fruit will again be available for all students outside the library, and we encourage our Willy Kids to come along and access some fresh fruit throughout the day. We are pleased to continue offering this initiative as part of supporting student wellbeing and healthy habits across the school.
Warm regards,
Mat Montebello
