School Council
We are at that time of year again where we look at School Council Elections.
We have four parent vacancies on our School Council this year. School Council plays an important role in overseeing the broad direction and vision of the school, represents the interest of the wider school community, and enhances the educational experiences for students. A school Councillor commits to attending a monthly meeting (at least 8 per year); occasional Working Bees and other activities or responsibilities that occur from time to time.
If you are interested in nominating yourself or someone else for one of these positions, please pick up a nomination form from the school office, or call the office and we will send the form home. An email was sent home recently with this information and nominations
Please see the School Council election process and timetable attached.
If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to speak with me.
Parking
Last week I had a meeting with the Early Learning Centre and we reviewed both the school and centre’s traffic management plan. One key piece of information I wanted to relay to families was regarding parking. The new car park at the front of the ELC is available for community use, which includes families parking there before and after school to drop and pick-up students. If you do elect to use this parking please ensure you are entering and exiting the car park correctly.
Crocs
Finally, we have noticed an increase in students wearing crocs to school on occasions. As well as being a fashion faux-pa they are not suitable footwear for school. If your child requires them for a period of time due to having a foot injury please ensure you correspond with your child’s teacher so they are aware. Children attending school in crocs will not be allowed to participate in outdoor activities such as PE, House Sport and Kitchen Garden.
