Grade 6 Maths Games

Congratulations to the eight Grade 6 students who recently participated in the Mathematical Association of Victoria’s Games Day.

Held at Genazzano College, 50 teams of students competed in several mathematical problem-solving and strategy games. The students thoroughly enjoyed the experience, challenging themselves and their opponents. The results saw Templestowe Park Primary School place 8th out of the 50 teams.

What an achievement! Well done to you all.

Sport

Term 3 has ended with a bang with our Grade 5/6 students competing in the first round of Hoop Time and our 3-6 students competing in the Victorian Futsal Competition.

In the Hoop Time competition at Mullum Mullum last Friday, our Grade 5 and 6 students continued to showcase their prowess in basketball. They were organized into teams, competing against various other schools. These teams delivered outstanding performances, with 5 out of our 7 teams securing spots in the finals. The exceptional sportsmanship displayed throughout the day was truly remarkable, especially within teams comprising students from different grade levels and diverse friendships. Kudos to both our All-Star Girls and Templestowe Tigers Future Star teams, who have earned their place in the next round later this year!

The Victorian Futsal Competition, which took place at The Rings in Ringwood on Tuesday and Wednesday of this week, brought together a remarkable assembly of footballing schools for its inaugural edition, overseen by Football Victoria. It was a truly thrilling and enjoyable experience to be a part of, especially for our Grade 3 and 4 students who were representing TPPS in competitive sports for the first time.

Congratulations to all students for their splendid performance over the course of these few days and for embodying exceptional school pride during their representation.

A special mention goes out to our Grade 3/4 Girls Blue team, who emerged victorious in the Grand Final and will be advancing to the next stage in November.

Towards the end of this term, we've also witnessed outstanding achievements from two of our students in their respective sports. Lucas M, a member of 6K, participated in the SSV Primary Schools Golf Event and showcased remarkable skill. He emerged as the day's champion, recording an exceptional score of -4, with just 32 strokes across 9 holes.

Meanwhile, Grace D, a student in 5D and a member of Warrandyte JFC, achieved a significant milestone by earning the title of Best and Fairest in the Yarra Junior Football League. This accomplishment reflects her dedication and talent on the field.

We extend our hearty congratulations to both Lucas and Grace for their exceptional performances!
