Getting Ready for High School
Today we welcomed the incoming Prep students for 2027 - exciting times ahead. It may not feel that long ago when you attended Prep transition sessions for your child and now here you are, the parent/carer of a Year 6 student on the cusp of moving to high school! Your son/daughter, as with starting school, may have a lot of questions and different emotions about the coming changes.
To support this transition, the students have participated in workshops called "Step Up" which will look to answer their questions and allay fears. Click here for the link for an information booklet set out as a graphic novel. Whilst it was developed for neurodiverse students, it supports all students and can be a great way to discuss the move to high school with your child.
If you feel like your son/daughter would benefit from additional transition opportunities, I encourage you to reach out to their secondary school.
