Socktober

Last month the Mini Vinnies did well in promoting SOCKTOBER, a fundraising opportunity led by Catholic Mission. It's during this time students learnt about the Pope's international agency in Australia and how we can contribute to this great cause. The agency works with communities to support local projects in education, healthcare and spiritual care.

The students did well to learn and engage in 'Faith in Action' to support children in need. At the heart of the program is the sockball, made from recycled materials, which symbolises the real and often difficult challenges many children face each day. It's a simple yet effective way for students to connect with the experience of others and make a meaningful impact.

The students created this sockball in their classes to then participate in a school 'kickoff'. The kickoff has been postponed until next week.

Thanks to all the students and staff who wore their funny and colourful socks and made a gold coin donation. We managed to raise $215 which is fantastic!

Divine Kids

Each year the Parish of Holy Family in Doveton invite the wider neighbouring communities to their Divine Kids activities. Please have a look at the flyer below inviting our young people to participate in an Advent Retreat titled; Prepare the Way.
