Principal's Report

Term 3 Week 8
Dear Williamstown North Primary School Families,
Numeracy Week:
Last week we celebrated Numeracy Week. This was a fantastic opportunity to highlight the importance of mathematics in our daily lives, and to foster a positive attitude towards numbers among students and the wider community. Throughout the week, we held a range of engaging activities, such as math games, puzzles, competitions, and real-world problem-solving challenges that made learning math fun and accessible. It’s also a time to recognize the role numeracy plays in critical thinking, decision-making, and future careers in science, technology, engineering, and finance. By participating in Numeracy Week, learners of all ages built confidence, improved their skills, and discovered the relevance of numeracy beyond the classroom. Thank you to those who were able to attend our Numeracy Open Day – we hope you had a great time.
We will be holding a Rubik’s Cube final at this Friday's assembly! Our finalists will go head-to-head to see who can solve the cube the fastest. This challenge is all about speed, focus, and problem-solving. Let’s cheer on our competitors, and see who will be crowned our Rubik’s Cube Champion.
2026 Prep Transition Night:
On Tuesday 2 September, we proudly hosted our 2026 Prep Information Night, welcoming families, and providing valuable insights into our vibrant school community. The evening offered an overview of our Prep program, including curriculum highlights, daily routines, and the supportive transition strategies we have in place to help children feel confident and excited about starting school. Parents had the opportunity to meet our dedicated teaching staff, and ask questions. The event reflected our strong commitment to building a partnership with families, to ensure every child has a positive and successful start to their educational journey at Williamstown North Primary School.
