Ask R U OK? Any Day because life happens every day.

Thursday 11 September is R U OK? Day, but we know that whether it’s a friend, family member, partner, or colleague , the people around us go through life’s ups and downs every day. That’s why we want everyone to feel confident to check in with the people they care about and Ask R U OK? Any Day.

Research has found that those who are regularly asked, 'are you OK?' report increased feelings of wellbeing, and we've learned that a third of Australians say they've been asking others more often over the past year . That means many of us are already showing up for others in meaningful ways, but when it comes to conversations about how we’re really going, some people are less confident than others.

It’s natural to feel a little hesitant, but the good news is nine in ten Australians report feeling grateful, supported and cared for when someone genuinely asks them if they're OK - and that’s a good reason to give it a go. You might even be having these conversations already without realising.

On September 11th, all classrooms will participate in lessons promoting this event and we are inviting children to wear yellow for the day:

  • This can be as simple as a hair tie, wrist band or a bandana

  • Or could be dressed from head to toe in yellow clothing

  • There is no expectation to dress up - if this is the case simply come in full school uniform.

There will be some spot prizes for best dressed, so get involved and remember to ask R U OK?

Regards,

Wellbeing Team

Loud Shirt Day - Friday 17 October 2025

Turn up the volume for kids with hearing loss!

Loud Shirt Day is the boldest, brightest, most feel-good fundraiser across Australia and New Zealand – and it’s all for a seriously good cause. Each year, workplaces, schools, families and friends throw on their loudest shirts to raise funds and awareness for children who are deaf or hard of hearing.

Funds raised help provide life-changing services like speech therapy, audiology, early intervention and family support – giving kids with hearing loss the tools they need to thrive.

WNPS students and staff can wear LOUD shirts of any kind on Friday 17 October.

If you wish to donate, you can do so via the link below. All donations $2 and over are considered tax deductible, and can be claimed as a tax deduction. All Loud Shirt Day charities are registered Deductible Gift Recipients, and can provide tax deductible receipts to your donors.
