CSEF
TIME IS RUNNING OUT - APPLICATIONS CLOSE SOON
If you are the holder of a Centrelink Health Care Card or Pensioner Concession Card you are entitled to receive funding called CSEF - Camps, Sports and Excursions Fund. You may have received it last year but if you have a sibling that started this year you will need to fill in a form for that child. If you have transferred from another school you will also need to fill in a for with us, forms are available from the office, more information is available under the CSEF tab within the newsletter.
Sick Bay – New Procedure for Notifications
From now on you will receive a notification for:
- A student who has soiled themselves, you will also be notified if they have required a change of clothes supplied by the school. Please wash and return any clothes that have been supplied.
- A student who has had a minor incident and visits the sickbay.
You will receive a courtesy notification via SMS and Compass. There is no need to call the school if you receive these messages.
For serious incidents, such as a head injury or severe illness/injury, you will receive a phone call from the school instead of an SMS notification.
The new Compass notifications are to inform parents of student visits to sickbay in a timely manner and to reduce our paper usage.
Do you have any spare school pants?? Sick bay is very short on pants needing sizes up to 8. If you have any you no longer need we would be very grateful if they could be donated for our use.
Shop for School is back!!!
In 2022 WVPS won first prize of $15,000.00 for Pacific Werribee Shop for Schools.
Can we make it to the top again and receive funds for improvements to the school.
Simply shop at selected Pacific Werribee stores and upload your receipts. Receipts from click and collect are also accepted.
Collect receipts from your family and friends!
Lets see if we can get Wyndham Vale Primary School onto the Leaderboard.

Wyndham Vales Magical Journey with National Story Time 2024! 📖✨
Dear Parents and Guardians,
We are delighted to share the fantastic news that our school successfully participated in National Story Time 2024!
On Wednesday 22nd of May, our students joined thousands of others across Australia in reading this year's chosen book, Bowerbird Blues by Aura Parker. The event was a huge hit, and our young readers were completely engrossed in the story. Teachers led lively and interactive reading sessions, making the story come alive. Students were eager to ask questions and share their thoughts, adding to the excitement of the day.
Participating in National Story Time was more than just a fun event; it was a meaningful experience that brought our school community closer together. It highlighted the importance of reading and storytelling, and it helped to foster a deeper love for books among our students.
A big thank you to our amazing teachers for supporting this initiative, their involvement and encouragement make all the difference.
We are already looking forward to next year's National Story Time and continuing our journey of nurturing a love for reading in our students.

Education Day
Our recent Education Support Day was a joyful celebration of educators and support staff! Through speeches, and certificates made from our students the support staff were honoured through a whole school assembly. We are truly grateful for all the hard work and dedication. Thanks to all who participated in making it a success!
Students Shine in Reconciliation Week
Our recent Reconciliation Week saw our students actively engaging in discussions and activities centred around understanding and sympathising.
Highlights included teacher-led initiatives promoting cultural exchange and heartfelt reflections on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander history and culture. By listening, learning, and standing in solidarity, our students exemplified the values of reconciliation in action.
Mrs Seneviratne concluded Reconciliation Week by sharing a powerful picture book with the whole school on assembly.
Yard Duty and Supervision
Student safety at Wyndham Vale Primary School is our highest priority and the safe and appropriate supervision of students is an important element of our duty of care to students. Part of this duty is ensuring parents and students are aware of our student supervision arrangements before and after school.
Before school: School gates are opened, and grounds are supervised at 8:20am until all students have entered classrooms at 8:45am.
After school: School grounds are supervised at the conclusion of the school day at 2:55pm until gates are closed at 3:10pm.
Students on school grounds outside these times will not be supervised (unless they are attending a before or after school care program or supervised extracurricular activity). Parents/carers/guardians are requested to ensure that students do not attend school outside of these supervised times unless they are attending before or after school care, or a pre-arranged supervised activity (i.e. sports practice).
Families are encouraged to contact the school office on 03 8754 0888 or refer to Team Kids for more information about the before and after school care facilities available to our school community or if you would like any further information about our student supervision arrangements.

All late comers need to go straight to Mrs Bebend to be signed in.
Please remember to label you child's uniform with their name. We have many items of clothing in lost property that we cannot return because there is no name on the items.
Road Safety:
Wyndham Council have contacted us to inform us they will be patrolling our school area due to the large number of complaints they have received regarding dangerous driving, parking across drive ways and on the nature strips as well as the school crossings not being used.
We are asking that you are vigilant at all times and role model for our students the following:
Cross at the school crossings
Do not park on the nature strip
Do not park across our neighbors driveways and block them
Do not double park to drop children off/pick them up
Do not speed, be aware of your speed and the speed limit during school hours
Pedestrians are to give way to vehicles at round abouts.
It is in everyone's best interest to keep the students safe and be respectful to those around you and be a good role model for the students -
DO NOT cross the road without using the crossing
