Why Book Week Is So Important

Ever since I was a little kid I have loved reading. I have always loved the fact that you can get lost in a book for hours on end. The fact that no matter what you were feeling sad, happy or bored, books were always there.

My favourite books have always been the Harry Potter series. I love them because they let your imagination run wild whilst reading them. When you read them you can fight with evil wizards or compete in the tri-wizard tournament.

Book week is something I find very special. A whole week where you can learn, talk and study about books but my favourite part of all is how it brings people together.

Many people believe that now we don't need books that they're a waste of time, that doing things on the internet is better. People think that books are now obsolete. But i think that's wrong. Books are the complete opposite, books let you learn and grow. They teach and and bring joy. And i think that we can change the way people view books by simply telling all of their many benefits

First of all, books teach. You can learn so much by just reading one book. You can learn so many new words just by reading one book. But books don't only teach you academically they also help change mindsets, they teach life lessons.

Secondly books bring joy. As I said before, I have always loved the fact you can get lost in books. No matter what you were going through in life you could forget it all whilst reading a book.

Lastly books expand your imagination. They give you new ideas. They let you think beyond you could ever had before. Many books have inspired me to write stories I would've never been able to imagine before.

Books let you dream. You can dream of what you want to do. Books are the openly reason I want to be a journalist. The only reason I am writing this article. The only reason I am the person I am.

Books have helped shape me as a person.
