A Message from Keir and Emma

Foundation and Junior Swimming Program
Last week we ran our Foundation and Junior swimming program at Elite Swimming school. We are so proud of the way our students demonstrated the BNWPS values throughout their four days of swimming. We saw them connecting and showing respect to the swim teachers at Elite, who were very impressed by the way that they enthusiastically joined in each lesson. A big thank you to our Foundation and Junior teachers, Education Support Staff and parent volunteers who all contributed to making the program such a success.
Grade 3/4 Camp
This week our Middle school students and teachers are off to Campaspe Downs Camp in the Macedon Ranges for three days of adventure! The campers will be away from Wednesday to Friday. If your child is attending camp, please meet on the basketball court by 8:45 am, where their teacher will mark the roll and organise for luggage to be loaded onto the bus. Additionally, medication can be dropped off at the office throughout the day tomorrow, or at Sprout on Wednesday morning. Please make sure it is in a clear, labelled zip-lock bag. We wish the campers, including school staff and parent volunteers, an amazing trip and look forward to hearing all their camp stories.
Parent/Carer Opinion Survey
Our school is conducting the annual Parent / Carer Opinion Survey offered by the Department of Education and is seeking your feedback. The survey is designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of families’ perceptions of school climate, student behavior, and student engagement. The survey is optional, but we encourage and appreciate your participation.
Our school will use the survey results to assist in identifying areas for improvement and professional development needs in the school, to target school planning and improvement strategies.
The Parent / Carer Opinion Survey will be open online from Thursday 27 August to Friday 18 September 2026. All families are invited to participate in the survey.
The survey will be conducted online, only takes 20 minutes to complete, and can be access
ed at any convenient time on desktop computers, laptops, tablets or smartphones.
The online survey will be available in English and 10 other languages including Arabic, Greek, Hakha Chin, Hindi, Japanese, Punjabi, Simplified Chinese, Somali, Turkish, and Vietnamese. Resources are also available in additional languages to assist parents / carers who speak a language other than English at home. Please reach out to your child’s teacher, or the school directly for survey guides in your language.Links to the survey (including an access code) will be sent to families through Sentral on Wednesday 26th August.
Looking ahead to 2027
Planning for the 2027 school year is underway. If you have a child who is starting Foundation, enrolment forms are due. Please drop them off at the school office as soon as possible. Additionally, if your child will be leaving the BNWPS community in 2027 (and they’re not a Grade Six graduate) please share your intentions with the school. Intentions can be emailed to the school office at brunswick.nw.ps@education.vic.gov.au. We are currently considering class structures and sizes and all of this information is important for this process to be a success.
