Mentoring Programs

Year 4

This term, our Year 10 Mentors have had a positive and energetic presence in the Junior School. More than 60 Year 10 students have rotated through morning sessions, supporting our younger boys with reading and numeracy before school. Beyond academic help, the mentors have also joined the highly competitive handball games at recess and lunch, strengthening connections through play. Their involvement provides valuable role modelling and helps our Year 4 boys feel a strong sense of belonging within the wider Trinity College community.

Year 5

In Year 5, students begin their formal mentor program, partnering with boys in Year 9. Each term, the groups come together to share stories, reflect on their experiences, and build meaningful relationships. This term, the Year 9 students joined the Year 5 cohort at our International Women’s Day assembly before pairing up to discuss influential women in their lives. These interactions lay the foundation for a mentoring relationship that continues into Year 7 and supports the boys as they grow in confidence and character.

Year 6

Our Year 6 Prefects regularly attend Year 12 Prefect meetings, giving them valuable firsthand experience in leadership, communication, and event coordination. This opportunity allows them to refine their leadership skills and gain a deeper understanding of the expectations placed on student leaders at Trinity. Their involvement ensures that the Junior School voice is represented and encourages them to contribute thoughtfully and confidently to school life.

This mentoring relationship also extends into the Junior School, with Year 12 Prefects maintaining a strong presence at our Junior School assemblies. Their support and example help strengthen the leadership culture across the College and provide our younger boys with positive role models to look up to.

Year 4 Eucharist Retreat

On Tuesday 24 March, our Year 4 students participated in their Eucharistic Retreat, a significant milestone in their faith journey as they prepare to receive the Sacrament of the Eucharist later this year. The day was led by the Youth Ministry 24/7 team, who brought great energy, warmth, and insight to the experience.

The retreat was a wonderful opportunity for the boys to pause, reflect, and grow in their understanding of their faith in a supportive and engaging environment. We are grateful to the Youth Ministry 24/7 team for their leadership and to our Year 4 teachers for their guidance throughout the day. The boys left the retreat with a deeper appreciation of the Eucharist and a renewed sense of connection to their faith and to one another.

Have Sum Fun Competition

Year 5 & 6 Selected Students

On Tuesday, students participated in the Have Sum Fun Competition - an exciting, fast‑paced mathematics challenge run in a quiz‑night format. Working in teams of six, students raced against the clock to solve four rounds of eight challenging problems, requiring teamwork, strategy, and quick thinking.

Congratulations to the boys selected who represented Trinity with pride: Patrick Lim, Jonathon Borman, Jonty McLure, Seve Scali, Aidan Tan and James Cameron.

  • Xavier Oshin won the Under 11 Boys shot put throwing 9.45m

  • John Borman won the Under 12 Boys 400m with 1.05.14

  • Oscar O'Neill who also qualified to compete in the under 12 boys 1500m (with the fourth fastest qualifying time!) Oscar said this was an amazing experience knowing how many great runners had run on that same track.

  • Noah Parnham competed in the under 12 Boys 200m and 400m but didn’t make the finals due to an injury. Noah had qualified with the fastest 400m time, a fantastic effort in itself.

 Junior School Cricket A's

Trinity College JS A’s produced a strong and disciplined performance in the field after sending CCGS in, with the bowling unit combining effectively to limit the opposition to 98 from their 20 overs.

Michell Murray and Zane Casson were particularly impressive in limiting runs & taking key wickets, while the team maintained consistent pressure throughout the innings. In reply, Trinity showed determination with the bat, highlighted by steady contributions from Oscar Archibald and Zane Casson at the top of the order. Sam Citterbard added valuable runs in the middle overs, helping to stabilise the innings during a challenging chase.

Although Trinity finished on 77, falling just short, the effort reflected a committed team performance with plenty of positives to build on moving forward to Term 4.
