ACU will be hosting its Guarantee Early Offer, Entry Programs and Pathways Webinar (VIC) on Tuesday 11 August, from 6.00pm- 6.45pm.  Learn about ACU’s entry and pathway options, including the ACU Guarantee early offer program, key dates and how to apply. Plus, hear from current students about their journeys.  This webinar is for Victorian Year 12 students and their parents.

 VCE Summer Tutoring

“Prepare for the academic year and beyond with VCE Summer Tutoring! We deliver inclusive and valuable academic support to VCE students, no matter their background.

At our program from 11-22 January 2027, students can:

- Engage in academic classes and 1-1 tutoring from passionate tutors

- Join a community of like-minded students as they tackle fun activities

- Learn more about University study from supportive older peers

Bursaries and travel subsidies are available to students who would otherwise be unable to access the program.

The VU Block Model

At Victoria University (VU) we have revolutionised tertiary education in Australia with our multi-award-winning VU Block Model. Study one subject at a time, learn in interactive, workshop-style classes, and be supported to reach your full potential.

Unlike the standard university model where students juggle multiple subjects at once over a semester, at VU students get to focus on one unit at a time over four-week or eight-week ‘blocks’, depending on the course. Students complete all assessments for each unit (subject) within each four-week block and receive their results soon after the block finishes.

Tips for Writing Your Resume

Your resume is your ticket to standing out, so it's worth getting right. Here's how to make yours work for you:

Start with what you're good at

Employers care about skills, not just experience. Include technical skills like using Excel, coding, or speaking another language, and transferable skills that come from school projects, volunteering, sport or part-time work like teamwork, communication, time management and problem-solving.

Keep it simple, clean and easy to read

Use a standard font, clear headings and keep it to two pages. Make sure your email address sounds professional and always proofread for spelling and grammar. Include contact information, a career objective, education, skills, experience, achievements and referees.

Checklist – 

1. Personal Details – Your name should stand out as the heading in bold. 
2. Career Goal – Specific and related to job 
3. Education & Training – List in currency order. Include institute name and courses studied or studying. Keep it relevant. 
4. Qualification – List in currency order. Include formal qualification name and gradudation date. Include short courses such as first aid and RSA.
5. Employment History- List in currency order. Include company name, position, responsibilites and date. Include volunteer work. 
6. Skills & Abilities – Include personal attributes, technical skills and transferable skills. Demonstrate how you have shown these skills. Keep recent and relevant. 
7. Referees – Add at least two people. Include full name, company, position and contact details. Preferably know you through an employment setting (can be volunteer based).
