Dress Up Day and Parade

Our annual Book Week Dress-Up Day will be held on Monday, 31 August, coinciding with our Fun with Dad event.

Students are encouraged to dress up with their dad or a special father figure. You might like to coordinate costumes and come dressed as your favourite book characters!

A special Book Week assembly and Fun with Dad parade will be held in the gym from 9:05 am to 9:35 am.

This year, our Dress Up Day will raise money for Reading Out of Poverty (ROOP), an Australian registered charity and not-for-profit organisation that helps children across Australia develop the foundational literacy skills they need to flourish. This Book Week, ROOP aims to place as many books as possible into the hands of children and families in East Arnhem Land communities.

Students who come to school dressed up are asked to bring a gold coin donation for ROOP.

Scholastic Book Fair

We are excited to announce that the Scholastic Book Fair is returning to Mackellar Primary School! The Book Fair is a fantastic opportunity to purchase books for your child across a variety of genres, including fantasy, classics, award-winning titles, humour, non-fiction and mystery.

Books suitable for students of all primary school ages will be available, with prices starting at $5. Other items, including bookmarks and stationery, will also be available to purchase.

When:  

Monday, August 24 to Friday, August 28

8:30am - 8:55am each morning, except Monday, August 24

3:30pm - 4:00pm each afternoon

Where:

Grade 5/6 Building.
