100 Days of School

For a moment we thought it was Grandparents and Special friends day yesterday but then realised it was a very special day for our Prep students and their teachers and support staff. They celebrated 100 days of school. We couldn't be prouder of our youngest students and are very excited to celebrate many more days with them. Please see a special article with some photos of the day in this same newsletter.

Student Free Day and Office Closure

This Friday is a student free day meaning that there is no school for students on this day. Camp Australia are running a full day program if your child requires care on this day. You can click here to find further information from Camp Australia about this day.

All staff will be coming together for the first part of the day and so we advise that the office will be closed until approximately 11:30 am. You are able to leave a message on our phone service, or if an emergency situation, call the school mobile on 0490 432 091.

DonateLife Week 2026

DonateLife Week started on Sunday 26 July and runs until Sunday 2 August 2026.

It is a public awareness week encouraging more Australians to support organ and tissue donation.

Anyone in Australia aged 16 and over can register on the Australian Organ Donor Register to be an organ and tissue donor. It only takes one minute to register.

Organ and tissue donation can save and change the lives of people who, in many cases, are seriously ill or dying. To read stories of people who have received donations, refer to Donation stories on the DonateLife website.

Mobile Phone Policy

Golden Square Primary School understands that students may bring a personal mobile phone to school, particularly if they are travelling independently to and from school.

At Golden Square Primary School:

  • Students who choose to bring mobile phones to school must have them switched off and securely stored during school hours
  • Exceptions to this policy may be applied if certain conditions are met (see below for further information)
  • When emergencies occur, parents or carers should reach their child by calling the school’s office on 5443 6877.

You can read the full policy on our school website if you are seeking further information.
