REPRESENTATIVE SPORT

Sydney Tennis Trial

On Wednesday 22nd November Petar competed in the Sydney Tennis Trial in Rockdale. Petar played 9 matches and won all of them. He was selected as seed no. 1 for the next stage of MacKillop trials which will be held in February 2024. Petar demonstrated a positive and respectful attitude throughout all games. He is very proud to represent St Patrick's at this high level and we are honoured to have him share his talents.

Sydney AFL Trial

Noah VD, Zac C and Jye L are trialling for AFL at Sydney level trial. This will be held next week on Thursday 7th December in Ashbury. Good luck boys.

Sydney Touch Trial

Lila M, Jye L, Noah VD, Harlem T will all give it their best at the Sydney Touch Trial on Wednesday 13th December. This trial was rescheduled from Wednesday 29th November due to the wet weather hanging around Sydney lately. This will officially be the last representative trial for 2023.

Sydney Basketball Trial

On Monday 4th December we have 4 boys competing at Sydney level for Basketball. We wish James D, Franklin G, Ethan P and Lachlan P all the best on the court.

Conference Rugby League

Families who nominated their child for the sporting pathways for Rugby League Boys plus Football boys and girls will receive details regarding these events before the end of term.

Conference Football Trials

We will need to hold an in school trial for Boys Football at present as we have more students nominated then what we can send. Families of boys who filled out the Representative Sporting Pathways Nomination form at the end of Term 3 were emailed with details regarding the in school football trial this Monday 4th December. The Conference trial won’t be until 2024 but seeing it is quite early on in the term, we are finalising our selections before the end of year school closure for 2023. A girls trial may be necessary and may occur throughout week 10.

INTERSCHOOL SPORT

I recently attended a sport coordinator meeting which mapped out the structure of interschool sport for 2024. The plan moving forward has taken into consideration feedback from principals and teachers who were involved in the interschool process throughout 2023. I look forward to sharing the 2024 outline with our St Patrick's community in the final newsletter of the year.

SWIMMING CARNIVAL/ TRIAL YEARS 2-6

Thank you to the entire St Patrick’s community for sticking out the weather for our annual school swimming event. From our wonderful teachers to energetic students and extremely helpful parents, I thank you endlessly. Our sport captains displayed great sportsmanship and led their house with pride throughout the entire day as they helped create special memories.

The weather wasn’t ideal but nothing was going to stop DJ Norris keeping everyone warm with her pool-side disco. Congratulations to the GOLD house for accumulating the most amount of points throughout the day. This year we have introduced a junior and senior age champion for our timed event category. Any student progressing to the conference 3 swimming trial will be handed a note at school before the end of the term. Congratulations to:

GALA DAYS

NRL SHARKS LEAGUE TAG GALA DAY

We attempted to squeeze in 2 more gala days to sum up 2023. Firstly the 3-5 Sharks League Tag Gala day scheduled for Wednesday 29th November and secondly our Infant League Tag Gala Day on Thursday 30th November. Unfortunately the rain forced NRL to cancel both of these days and with very limited days left in the school calendar year the option to reschedule in 2023 wasn’t an option. Thank you to the teachers, students and parents for getting involved and excited for days like these and we look forward to what Gala Days St Patricks will get involved in for 2024.
