Creative Arts

Students in 3W and 3G have been learning about and playing work songs and blues music as part of their studies of Early Jazz. Using tuned percussion instruments, students are able to the read music and play in time with the correct rhythm and tempo. Students have also the opportunity to conduct and lead their respective classes as seen with Jack and Boris demonstrating their skills.

2G are outlining the pitch in their studied piece ‘Aquarium’ from ‘The carnival of the Animals’ by Saint-Saens. Students are showing the direction of the melody and the structure of the music with hand positions using coloured shakers.
