NMR Cross Country

On Wednesday 18 June, 35 Eltham High School students made the long trek to Kilmore Racing Club for the NMR cross country finals. Despite the chilly conditions, our cross country team delivered an outstanding performance. Each student showed incredible resilience, determination, and school spirit from start to finish. 

The team braved the cold with enthusiasm, and their hard work and preparation were evident in the way they competed. There were some fantastic individual achievements, with several students placing highly in their age groups and earning spots in the upcoming State final.  

Ally Brooks achieved GOLD – Year 12 (EVERARD), Yorke Murray BRONZE – Year 8 (TONER), Felix Morgan 6th - Year 10 (TONER), Xavier Webley 5th – Year 9 (SKIPPER), Rhodri Whelan 5th – Year 11 (SKIPPER), and Zoe Davies 11th – Year 9 (PAKANA). 

In addition to individual efforts, we also had our 14-year-old boys take second in the team category and they have qualified through to the State final. The team score is determined by the combined placings of the top 3 runners for each school. Well done boys.  

It was great to see students encouraging one another and working together to represent our school with pride. 

Whether running to achieve a personal best or supporting teammates along the course, every student contributed to a memorable day of competition. Their determination and teamwork were a true reflection of our school’s values, and all participants should be proud of their efforts.
