Week 9 Term 2

Athletics Carnival

Thank you to everyone who made Tuesday's Athletics Carnival a fantastic success! It was a beautiful, sunny day filled with great sportsmanship, energetic children, and a wonderful community spirit.

I am incredibly proud of our students for giving their absolute best in every event. Special thanks go to our parent community for cheering the children on and helping out with the events and the canteen. I also extend our gratitude to the staff who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make the day run seamlessly, with a special mention to Mr Lester for organising the day. Please see the Sport News page for the student results.

Thank you everyone for your outstanding support!

Semester 1 Reports

On Wednesday 24th June (Week 10) you will be able to view your child's Semester 1 report accessible in digital form via the Compass Parent Portal. If parents have any questions and/or would like to have a meeting with their child's class teacher, please contact the School Office to arrange a suitable time to meet or discuss any matters in regard to their child's learning during Week 11 Monday 29th June to Thursday 2nd July.

The report highlights the child's achievements, celebrates the growth they have made and outlines goals for their learning. We encourage you to take this opportunity to discuss your child's learning journey with them, acknowledging their efforts and looking forward to even more success in the second half of the year.

When you open your child's report, you will see curriculum headings for all KLA’s taught and specific A–E grading.

The A to E grade scale summarises the standard (or quality) of achievement associated with each grade. The scale describes:

  • the depth of knowledge and understanding and
  • the range of skills that students working at that standard typically show.

The Common Grade Scale shown below can be used to report student achievement in primary years in all NSW schools. The Common Grade Scale describes performance at each of five grade levels.

GradeDescription
AThe student has an extensive knowledge and understanding of the content and can readily apply this knowledge. In addition, the student has achieved a very high level of competence in the processes and skills and can apply these skills to new situations.
BThe student has a thorough knowledge and understanding of the content and a high level of competence in the processes and skills. In addition, the student is able to apply this knowledge and these skills to most situations.
CThe student has a sound knowledge and understanding of the main areas of content and has achieved an adequate level of competence in the processes and skills.
DThe student has a basic knowledge and understanding of the content and has achieved a limited level of competence in the processes and skills.
EThe student has an elementary knowledge and understanding in few areas of the content and has achieved very limited competence in some of the processes and skills.

Semester Attendance

On the student report parents will be able to see the semester attendance. Regular attendance at school is essential if students are to maximise their potential. As a school we are in partnership with our parents to ensure the regular attendance of our students.

Parents are responsible for ensuring their children attend school regularly and to explain to the school the absences of their children promptly and within seven days. If there are issues with your child's attendance, we will work in cooperation with you, to improve your child's attendance. If your child is perpetually late to school or leaves early, this also calculates towards non-attendance at school.
